Sometimes we ask ourselves ‘how did I get here’
James began life as a sheet metal worker, so has a traditional trade behind him. Add to that the fact that his dad was a joiner, and you can begin to understand a little bit how he came to be making such wonderful wood creations!
Rustic Simplicity Campervan Conversions
All is not quite that straightforward though. In order to become Rustic Simplicity Campervan Conversions, a huge transformation was needed. For most of our lives we belonged to a community based on very strong religious principles. Within this place there was absolutely no room for individuality or creative thinking. A totally unexpected series of events meant that in our mid 40’s we broke out – against everyone’s advice. We were taking a huge risk, and I have to say it was an extremely difficult road to travel on. More than a few years passed before we began to realise that actually we were not victims at all, but could learn and grow from our experiences. To begin with we stood, together with our daughter, in an alien world…one that we had always understood to be a place of great wickedness. We were essentially middle aged children, and it would be a whole decade before we picked up our confidence, along with our tools and began to create the first hand built campervan. Five years have passed since that day, and I have to say we are absolutely astonished by where we are today.
On these pages we will share with you our experiences, and hopefully it will be useful to all of you out there who, like us, are absolutely passionate about hand crafted campervans……we are so happy you are reading this and look forward to hearing some of your comments!
Happy Camping!
James and Anita Peggie
